Everything you need to know about getting to Stratford Cross

One of the best-connected destinations in London, Stratford is closer than you think. The Elizabeth Line is transforming the city, with lightning-fast connections to Liverpool Street, Tottenham Court Road and Paddington in under 20 minutes, and Heathrow in less than an hour. The Javelin train can have you in Kings Cross in just seven minutes. Add in National Rail, DLR, Central and Jubilee lines and getting into the capital couldn’t be easier.

How to get here:

  • If you're arriving on the tube, Stratford Station is on both the Central or Jubilee lines. When you arrive, follow the directions below to reach Stratford Cross.

    Arriving on the Central line (6 mins)

    • Leave the platform and make your way to Level 0. 
    • Exit through the main doors and walk out onto Meridian Square (you’ll see the bus station opposite you).
    • Turn to your left and walk towards the large staircases leading towards Westfield Shopping Centre.
    • Walk over the Stratford Town Centre Link bridge, where you will arrive at Stratford Place.
    • Walk straight forward through what is known as ‘The Street’ towards Chestnut Plaza, then turn left.
    • Walk past GymBox and use the crossing on Westfield Avenue to reach Stratford Cross.

     

    Arriving on the Jubilee line (7 mins)

    • Take the stairs or lift to the mezzanine bridge level.
    • Turn right and head towards the ticket gates.
    • Go up the stairs towards Stratford Town Centre Link bridge, where you will arrive at Stratford Place.
    • Walk straight forward through what is known as ‘The Street’ towards Chestnut Plaza, then turn left.
    • Walk past GymBox and use the crossing on Westfield Avenue to reach Stratford Cross.

  • Stratford Station is just a short walk from Stratford Cross if you're arriving by Elizabeth line, DLR or Overground lines. For journeys from further afield, National Rail connections from Kent to St Pancras stop at Stratford International Station.

    Arriving on the Elizabeth line (7 mins) 

    • Leave the platform and make your way to Level 0.
    • Exit through the main doors and walk out onto Meridian Square (you’ll see the bus station opposite you).
    • Turn to your left and walk towards the large staircases leading towards Westfield Shopping Centre.
    • Walk over the Stratford Town Centre Link bridge, where you will arrive at Stratford Place.
    • Walk straight forward through what is known as ‘The Street’ towards Chestnut Plaza, then turn left.
    • Walk past GymBox and use the crossing on Westfield Avenue to reach Stratford Cross.


     
    DLR 

    • Exit platform 16 and take the stairs or lift to the mezzanine bridge level. 
    • Turn right and head towards the ticket gates.
    • Go up the stairs towards Stratford Town Centre Link bridge, where you will arrive at Stratford Place.
    • Walk straight forward through what is known as ‘The Street’ towards Chestnut Plaza, then turn left.
    • Walk past GymBox and use the crossing on Westfield Avenue to reach Stratford Cross.

     

    Overground 

    • From the platform, look for the exit signposted 'Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park/Westfield Stratford City'.
    • Follow these signs until you reach the escalators going up towards a set of barricades.
    • Once you exit, head towards the Westfield Shopping Centre and towards transport link totem pole.
    • From here, use the lift or stairs to go up to Stratford Place.
    • Walk straight forward through what is known as ‘The Street’ towards Chestnut Plaza, then turn left.
    • Walk past GymBox and use the crossing on Westfield Avenue to reach Stratford Cross.
       

     

    National Rail (8 min walk)

    • Upon leaving the station, follow Celebration Avenue until you reach Penny Brookes Street.
    • Keep walking straight until you reach Montfichet Road.
    • Walk through the Stratford City Bus Station until you reach Stratford Place.
    • Turn right and take the escalators, stairs or lift up to Stratford Place.
    • Walk straight forward through what is known as ‘The Street’ towards Chestnut Plaza, then turn left.
    • Walk past GymBox and use the crossing on Westfield Avenue to reach Stratford Cross.
  • Stratford Cross is served by a number of bus services listed below:

    25, 69, 86, 104, 158, 238, 241, 257, 262, 276, 308, 425, 473, 678, D8, N8, N25, N86

  • With miles of bike lanes, Stratford Cross encourages active travel wherever possible. For cyclists, there are bicycle racks located on Westfield Avenue to securely lock your bike during your visit.

  • The closest car park to Stratford Cross is in Westfield Stratford City. It has over 5,000 parking spaces across three car parks — find directions and prices here.

    Uber picks up and drop off on Westfield Avenue (Stop A).

    Black cabs are available from the taxi rank on Montfichet Road, outside the Northern Ticket Hall at Stratford station (near Starbucks on the Lower Ground Floor).
