This summer we’re bringing a range of fabulous film, arts and sports to International Quarter London with our open-air cinema – right in the heart of Stratford.

On Tuesday 2nd July, we’ll be streaming live from the Royal Opera House as the company, chorus and orchestra perform Bizet’s Carmen. Join us from 6.30pm for a 7pm start.
Carmen, a fiery gypsy girl, has no problem seducing the men she wants. Yet, she’s unprepared when she decides to seduce Don José – who initially rejects her advances.
Carmen’s charms, however, win out and Don José soon abandons his sweetheart Michaela and his army post, joining Carmen and her smuggler friends in the mountains.
But it’s not long before Carmen’s nomadic spirit wins out and she gets bored of Don José’s possessiveness. When the dashing toreador Escamillo comes along and catches her eye, Don José’s jealous brings drama, violence and tragedy.

Barrie Kosky’s production moves away from the traditional Spanish setting with an alternative take of Vaudeville.
