For music lovers, the E15 jazz sessions in Stratford are a great way to discover new music. For one Friday each month, a variety of jazz musicians and bands will play from 8pm. You can expect an eclectic mix of established international acts as well as new talent. Doors are open to the public and tickets cost £12 on the door or £10 if you book in advance.

Friday 11th October – Just East
The band, Just East, incorporate world, folk, prog and classical influences into their music – all tackled with impressionistic style. Composition and improvisation are brought together seamlessly in a similar style to fusion pioneers Weather Report and prog rock innovators Gong.

22nd November – Mikele Montolli
From Mikele Montolli, you can expect Afro-American tradition fused with experimental form-free music. Having studied violin from the age of seven, experienced electric bassist Mikele has an extensive musical vocabulary. Classically trained, Mikele has studied at institutions such as the Conservatorio Verona and carries his classical influences throughout his music.

13th December – Dave O’Higgins Quartet
From this distinguished quartet, you can expect swing music with jazz influences set firmly in the harmonic and melodic tradition. The UK-based musicians are at the peak of their careers, and will be playing a mixture of new originals and standards from their latest album.
