Welcoming Unicef UK to IQL

We’re delighted that the UK arm of one of the world’s most prominent charities, Unicef, is now based here at IQL. They invited us into their new workplace at 1 Westfield Avenue to show us how they’re settling in - take a look below!

Unicef UK moved its UK Headquarters from Clerkenwell to 1 Westfield Avenue, Stratford, sharing a building with fellow organisations like the Financial Conduct Authority.

The charity was looking for a new workspace that allowed it to change the way it works. It needed a flexible space that encouraged collaboration between teams. There was no need for private offices, as Unicef UK sought to embrace modern, open plan ways of working.

Each office space at IQL offers all of the above, tailored to each business’ needs. Stratford as a location played a large part in the decision-making process. The close proximity of Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park (QEOP) gives employees ample wellbeing potential with an abundance of sporting facilities and green spaces. The skyline visible from the office, looking across QEOP to the city also gives all who work there an inspiring perspective of London.

So after a short amount of time in their new space, what are the differences? They’ve noticed a change in how they work. Everyone is working together collaboratively in a more project-based way.

Meeting rooms are rarely used as people branch out to the variety of spaces available to them. A vibrant community is developing across the open-plan office and employees are really appreciating how it affects their day to day work.

“You can pretty much pick a space that’s going to work for you and what you need. From a wellbeing perspective, I really appreciate that.”  Michelle Agyakwa, Unicef UK
