Hackney City Farm

Fancy a date with a difference? Time to get up close and personal with the farmyard animals of Hackney Farm.

Situated on the site of a former brewery, Hackney City Farm has transformed the space to bring a taste of the rural countryside to the city.

You can look forward to meeting goats, sheep, chickens and donkeys as well as some small animals such as rabbits and guinea pigs. The farm is open Tuesday to Sunday from 10am to 4pm and is completely free to enter. Workshops and classes are held weekly throughout summer - check the weekly schedule here.

Meza East

Meza East is the new bar and restaurant in Stratford East Theatre.

Combining cuisine with theatre, Stratford East Theatre hosts events throughout the month to jazz up dinner time.

From Drag Bingo to comedy nights, opt for a lively dinner date at Meza East.

You can also enjoy deals throughout the week such as Tenner Tuesdays (two meals for £10) or Pizza Wednesdays (any pizza for £5.50).

Crate Brewery

Learn about East London’s brewing culture whilst enjoying a drink together by the River Lea.

Join Crate Brewery on the journey behind some of its best-selling beers on a tasting and tour experience.

Starting at the main bar, you’ll be shown around the brewery, including areas not normally open to the public. The aim of Tasting Tours is to take guests on a journey through the history of brewing, the story of craft beer, and the brewing process itself.

Once you’ve learned about the process and tasted the ingredients, take to the beer garden and enjoy a stone baked pizza while you sample some of the products.

Tours range from £15-£25 per person with tasting included in your ticket price. Visit the brewery’s website for all the details.
Feeling more adventurous? You can also kayak to the brewery on London’s oldest canal with Secret Adventures before your tasting and touring experience. Details here.

ArcelorMittal Orbit

Fancy seeing more of London’s skyline? Head to Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park to visit the ArcelorMittal Orbit sculpture.

Created by Anish Kapoor and Cecil Balmond, the magnificent looping structure is an iconic symbol of the 2012 Olympics.

Standing at 114m tall, it’s the perfect place to enjoy a date with a view. Take selfies, enjoy the moment and take in London’s skyline.

Did you know the sculpture is also home to the world’s tallest and longest slide? At 178m long, the 12 twists and turns wind through the sculpture finishing with a corkscrew section named the ‘bettfeder’ – after the German word for ‘bedspring’.

Not sure if you want to commit to the drop? Enjoy beautiful views of East London from the viewing platform by taking the lift straight to the top.
