MexiCasa

With their delicious sharing platters, MexiCasa describe their concept as ‘social eating’ so it’s just as well that they boast a 100% halal menu to ensure nobody need go hungry. Art lovers will certainly appreciate the nod to Frida Kahlo on their menu too.

Café Rasa Malaysia may sit inside Westfield, but diners would be forgiven for thinking they momentarily blacked out and woke up halfway across the globe. If the charming lighting and minimalist furnishings don’t transport you, then the bold flavours certainly will. They source their Halal meat only from fully certified local suppliers and select their veg daily from local markets. 

HSandCO

Pairing Irish cuisine with halal beef, HSandCO stands out as one of the most original halal restaurants in East London. They go above and beyond to ensure everyone is catered for by offering halal mocktails, a dedicated prayer space and an extensive tea selection.

HSandCO is open every day 12pm -11pm, except on Fridays and Saturdays when it stays open until 11:30pm.

The Westbridge Restaurant

Where: 335-337 High Street, E15 2TF

Found inside the Westbridge Hotel, this English brasserie doesn’t just attract those staying in the building. Their daily buffet-style breakfast serves keen diners from all around East London with a selection of freshly baked breads, cold halal meats and hot dishes. Later in the day, their express lunch is just right for the Londoner looking to fuel up between meetings.

Breakfast is served 7am – 10:30am daily, after which express lunch is served from 11:30am – 4pm.

Shawarma Grill

Where: 72 High Road Leyton, E15 2BP

Just a short walk from Leyton Station on the central line, Shawarma Grill is almost as easily recognisable for its funky low-hanging lamps as it is from the unmistakable smell that flows out of its doors. As the name suggests, they specialise in Shawarma, thin strips of grilled meat marinated in their own blend of fresh herbs and spices and olive oil.

Shawarma Grill is open 11:30am -11:30pm daily.
