SMITHSONIAN JAZZ ORCHESTRA POP IN FOR A VISIT

You might have heard about the East Bank development coming to Stratford - firmly placing the area at the heart of London’s artistic industries. Located next to Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in Stratford, East Bank will be the new home of BBC Music, Sadler’s Wells, London College of Fashion and a V&A Museum in partnership with The Smithsonian.
To mark its future partnership with Stratford, and the 5th anniversary of QEOP opening, The Smithsonian Jazz Orchestra provided live music in Stratford with a pop up concert on Sunday 6th April. The concert was enjoyed by residents, workers and students from the local area.
This visit is part of a tour of 10 cities, sharing American and International Jazz music with global audiences. The group is an 18 piece, big band orchestra who are based at The Smithsonian’s National Museum of American History. Find out more about the orchestra and their upcoming world tour.
