LENDLEASE CHALLENGE: THE FINAL ENTRIES

A number of schools in the local area were provided with a brief and each put forward a team to respond.

We were looking for each team to design a graphic to be displayed on the wall of the visitor’s centre at IQL’s new Pavilion, opening next summer.

The Pavilion at IQL will be a social space with dining options and a rooftop viewing terrace where people can look out across Stratford. It will be a place where people can come together, during the day or at night - a hub for the community.

Each design had to fit a number of criteria and had to tell a story about each group’s relationship with Stratford. It had to reference the rich history of Stratford, to allow each group to research their local community and the area in which they live.

Impressive ideas were presented by teams from Chobham Academy, Forest Gate Community School, Chobham Academy and Plashet School before judges went to deliberate on who the winning school should be.

Chobham Academy’s design was based on two maps of Stratford, one old and one present day to demonstrate just how much the area has changed.

Well done to the team from Chobham Academy – see the design for yourself when our new Pavilion opens next year.
