Green Elf Trees – Delivering real Christmas trees and helping a charity of your choice!
All the plastic that we throw away at this time of year mostly ends up on landfills, and, our artificial Christmas trees have a carbon footprint measuring at around 40kg of CO2, 10 times greater than what a real tree would produce at disposal. If you’re wondering where you can get a real tree and help good causes at the same time, let us introduce you to Green Elf Trees!
This green initiative was started by a group of friends that also began PlantSaversUK, combatting the waste of perfectly good plants during lockdown and providing them to London’s plant lovers. GreenElfTrees have partnered with a top-quality Christmas Tree grower from the South West to supply families with their perfect piece of Christmas cheer. They also offer decorations focused on natural materials, and a ‘Responsible Tree Collection Service’ after Christmas, to ensure trees are either composted or up-cycled for another purpose – closing the loop on a notoriously wasteful holiday.
They offer something for everyone – from cut trees to pot-grown, there’s even a helpful guide on their website for you to decide which tree is right for you. Their trees are all sourced from the UK, it minimises travel miles and GreenElfTrees offset their delivery team’s carbon emissions. Need to dispose of your tree? A ‘Responsible Tree Removal Service’ is in place to compost or re-purpose it – one less worry for you!
The Green Elf Trees founders are confident they can make a positive impact on the community and environment, something they are already accustomed to with their PlantSavers project, where they’ve managed to save over 300,000 plants from waste and raise over £20,000 for various British charities.
Following their launch for the 2021 festive season, trees are now available to order from greenelftrees.co.uk. Via this easy to use platform, Green Elf Trees are offering a convenient service, providing customers with the opportunity to choose their tree from a range of styles and sizes, and decide which charity Green Elf Trees will donate to on their behalf (Mind, Great Ormond Street Hospital Children's Charity, Crisis, Dogs Trust or Age UK).
With the launch of their website and ‘early bird’ sale, they take a major step towards making this a reality. Families and households from London, and some neighbouring counties, can now order a Green Elf Tree of their own and be a part of this incredible ‘Snowball Effect’. Trees start at £54.99 including free delivery. For enquiries and access to founders, please contact caleb@greenelftrees.co.uk.
