Where to watch the Euros 2021 in London: Best Pubs in Stratford

Wondering where to watch Euro 2021 in London? After being postponed, the eagerly awaited 2020 European Championship is finally in full swing, and if the recent weather is anything to go by, the fixtures are a perfect excuse to grab a pint in a pub garden. Luckily, some of the best pubs in Stratford London and its surrounding areas are well equipped to give locals and visitors the best atmosphere possible, come rain or shine. Here’s our rundown of the best places to check out, all fully compliant with COVID-19 regulations. As such, booking ahead is advised.

The Morgan Arms

With the pre-amble over, it’s time to kick off! ‘We have it all from every kick to every corner,’ reads the dedicated Euros page on The Morgan Arms’ website, football fans will be happy to see. Whether it’s Friday night’s England vs Scotland (June 18th, 8pm) you’re holding your breath for, or Wales’ match against Italy later this month, it’s a tense month for UK teams. Don’t miss a second with The Morgan Arms’ multiple screens and projectors, making it one of the best pubs in Stratford for the coverage.

Aspers Stratford

An IQL favourite, Aspers Stratford has an open roof terrace and offers unbeatable views across the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park and beyond. When it comes to what’s on in Stratford London, they’re a reliable choice for sports fixtures like the NFL, international cricket, rugby and football – and the Euros are of course no exception. It’s not our top family recommendation due to the 18+ age restriction indoors, but young professionals after a buzzing atmosphere will find it on Aspers’ rooftop, whatever the score.

The Red Lion Leytonstone

The Red Lion Leytonstone is such a feast for the eyes, that on a beautifully sunny day like those promised ahead, it’s worth a trip down for that alone. Their outside beer garden has been fully kitted out for the Euros, with a gazebo and projector at the ready. Locals should hurry though – their recent Instagram posts showing it off have racked up over 100 likes, suggesting that bookings will be coming in thick and fast – much like the burgers and hotdogs from their revered Saturday and Sunday barbeques!

King Edward VII

From King Edward VII’s flag-adorned décor, it’s plain to see that everyone is welcome during the Euros. They’re proudly showing every single live game from now until the end of the tournament. To book a table with guaranteed screen viewing, simply call 020 8534 2313 or email enquiries@kingeddies.co.uk.

Hackney Bridge

Hackney Bridge is one of the most sought-after Stratford places to drink, and that’s likely to only increase as the Euros progress – hence tables, arranged outside and each with a six-person capacity (though bookings can be made for up to 30 people) will be available from an hour prior to whichever game one books for, as well as for the duration of the game and up to ten minutes’ extra time. All group stages will be under cover and the quarters, semis and final will take place outdoors in our courtyard (weather permitting). Book now for a chance to win a £100 bar tab.

The Bat and Ball

Finally, located inside Westfield is East London’s self-proclaimed ‘table tennis temple’. Yet for the duration of the Euros, their sport loyalties lie firmly with football. They too are showing every single game and are filling up fast, so don’t delay!
