Friday 23 July, 2:00pm- All Things Olympics: Cool Runnings

This delightful comedy is the true story of the first Jamaican Bobsled Team ever to compete in the Olympics.

Disqualified during his Olympic trials when another runner careens into him, Derice (Leon) remains determined to compete in the Olympics. The only sport for which he can still qualify, however, is bobsledding. Along with three other hopefuls, Derice forms a team and finds a potential coach -- a down-and-out former Olympic American slider (John Candy, in his final screen performance) with a bad attitude and an unpleasant secret. Before long, these four Jamaicans who have never seen snow are competing in Canada for a slot in the Olympics -- and proving that pride, determination and dignity are even more important than winning.
